We have all come through an enormously challenging epoch that has tested us all. All of us were persecuted at some point, all of us have persecuted. No judgement.

So, how do we transition out of that ‘power-over is the norm’ epoch, flush out its influence, and move into the new epoch ready to take on the work of helping others to do the same?

“All of us were persecuted at some point, all of us have persecuted. No judgement.”

First, we need to know how Dark Side energy works, so that we know how to defeat it, in this last wave of the old epoch that we are seeing building in the world now.

How it Works

The energy that fired and fuelled the last epoch was defeated but never extinguished; it was always there, but sometimes it was able to rise to great strength and cause enormous destruction. The Third Reich was fuelled by this energy, both World Wars, as was the Vietnam war, slavery, the holocaust, etc. When it rose up, sheer willpower was what would defeat it. When this energy was resoundingly defeated it burrowed away, seemingly timid, but unchanged, without remorse, only to resurface again at a later time, undeterred. That is what we are seeing now, rising up in the world, fuelling the resurgence of hate speech, war, fascism, etc.

The energy that drove the last epoch is an incredibly under-evolved energy, and voluntarily so. It chooses not to evolve. It feels disgusted by evolution, sickened by it, revolted. It literally cowers in the presence of a non-judging evolved energy because to be evolved is to be empowered and this evil force has no power except that which we give it through fear, or inaction.

“We would do well to nurture our will, and that requires removing fear, any trauma that we may still be carrying in our bodies, and standing in the power of our true identity.”

Therefore, never fear Dark Side energy, ever. It has no power of its own. Owning our own personal power and our strength of will to hold firm boundaries with it, are our greatest weapons against it. We would do well to nurture our will, and that requires removing fear, any trauma that we may still be carrying in our bodies, and standing in the power of our true identity. Our ‘true identity’ is who we are and have been over many lifetimes, not just in this lifetime. To stand in the power of that, is to own our awareness of who we truly are at a multi-lifetime level, and to allow the power of that to emanate from us.

How Do We ‘Course Correct’ on the Harms We Have Done?

Everybody has been a perpetrator at some point. It’s not helpful to pore over this at length, unless it is to increase our humility. Guilt has no place in this process. We are not interested in the details. We need to focus on who we truly are and to marinate deeply in that so that our multi-lifetime identity is more potent to us than our ‘this-lifetime’ identity.

Once we own our true identity, we get to ‘course correct’ what we did by reflecting on who has been harmed in that era, who suffered intensely, who was denigrated because of the era, and how we feel about that. Whatever beliefs we had that were not inclusive, fair and compassionate, we get to change those, now. Beliefs impact how we behave, so they are the bedrock of parts of our identity; we need to tend them to make sure that they accurately reflect who we truly are.

“Beliefs impact how we behave, so they are the bedrock of parts of our identity; we need to tend them to make sure that they accurately reflect who we truly are.”

How can we attempt to repair relationships we have harmed or destroyed, and what will that take, acknowledging that we can never give those people we harmed a different history, or change what we did? We may never get their forgiveness, but we can mindfully and authentically seek it, acknowledging that we were wrong. We can step into their field of sufferance and feel in our bodies what it was that they endured. Empathy is reborn this way. Interconnectedness, compassion and kindness comes from seeing ourselves in ‘other’. And this takes work, and this work is being asked of us at this time.

So, Overall, What Can We Do?

Know Our True Nature:

The last epoch was marked by brutalism and terror. That kind of inhumanity is insanity, and is not our nature as human beings. Our nature is to nurture our young, to belong in communities, to cohabit and to identify with each other. We suffer when we see a bereaved mother, and we hug our children all the tighter for it. Our nature is empathy and connectivity, to be grounded in the natural world and to draw sustenance from it. Our evolution is to move into higher levels of awareness about who and what we are and to bring that awareness into the world. Knowing our true nature is a good start. Then we need to dig deeper, into who we are over many lifetimes, not just this one.

“Our nature is empathy and connectivity, to be grounded in the natural world and to draw sustenance from it.”

Know We Might be Influenced:

Next, knowing that it is possible that we could be influenced by these Dark Side beings, through possession illness, can be helpful. With the recent growth of interest in shamanism, possession illness is beginning to become more widely known and understood. Also, in the west with the mindfulness movement, people are beginning to realise that they are not their thoughts. This has created ‘space’ in our consciousness for us to separate out from not just our thoughts, but also the thoughts of possession illness, enabling us to ‘disengage’ from them. This gives us an identity that has more authenticity.

Fact-Check Our Thoughts:

Even if we do not believe in possession illness, or spirits, or an ‘evil force’ in the world, we can still question the thoughts we hear or the urges we feel. We can take a moment to ask whether or not these thoughts and feelings are in keeping with our true nature? Once we ‘fact-check’ the thoughts we are having, and approve the message, we can proceed with surety. If we bring awareness to the thoughts and feelings we are having and notice that the messages don’t align with who we believe ourselves to be, we can challenge that thought or feeling instantly, either inwardly or out loud. If the thoughts or feelings don’t align with who we believe ourselves to be, we can say the words “that is not my nature”. Eventually, even Dark Side beings will give up and leave the body when they see that they can’t gain traction. (Ask the Helping Spirits/angels, etc., to “bring these possessing spirits to where they need to go”, to keep our psychic space clean.)

“If we bring awareness to the thoughts and feelings we are having and notice that the messages don’t align with who we believe ourselves to be, we can challenge that thought or feeling instantly, either inwardly or out loud.”

Empathise with Others:

We are starting to empathise with people who have suffered, even when they had a different story from us. Put yourself in the energetic field of a decedent of slavery, who endured the unrepentant racism that came in its aftermath, and notice how that path existentially grieves the spirit. Ask your energy body to step into the legacy of someone who has had their homeland stolen and its resources stripped bare; notice that it feels like losing a part of yourself. What is the energetic field of the grief of genocide; “the loss of so many of our people, that it makes us all feel dead”. Even if we are not gay, or trans, or “different” in some way not respected by that epoch, can we ask our empathy to identify with their suffering? Can we want for them whatever it is that they need for themselves? And on and on.

Take Responsibility:

We must take responsibility for foregoing our ethics, when we did. We must take responsibility for us agreeing with that voice’s command and for the sufferance that we did and that happened in our name. But to see our influences in a broader field helps us to know that we can be ethical, that our true nature is not void. We also get to see what was and was not our own original inspiration, and to more clearly see the forces at play impacting our decisions. We are responsible for what we did. We raped, we killed, we dehumanised. We chose that because we didn’t empathise with ‘other’ in our desecration of them. We need to have healthy remorse for what we did that was done in our name, not just against the victim, but also for the moral injury to our own value system. Where appropriate, ask for forgiveness. Make reparations if you can.

Be Kind to Yourself and Others:

It’s a hard transition. It likely will get harder before it gets easier. Be kind to yourself and others and it will smooth the journey.

Blessings on all on the path.
